I. Members
There will be following categories of members
II. Membership
- Every Club/Academy/Institute subscribing to the aims and objectives of the Association
would be eligible for Membership, but no Club, Academy or Institute shall be entitled
to become a Member as a matter of right. The Executive Committee of the Association
reserves the right to admit or reject any Club/Academy/Institute who applies for
membership.
Any Club/Academy/Institute with similar name as that of the Association will not
be given affiliation.
- The Clubs/Academies/Institutes who seek affiliation shall send an application in
their letter head along with an admission fee of Rs. 200/- and the affiliation fee
of Rs. 300/- for the accounting year in which the affiliation is sought.
- Life Members shall pay Rs. 1000/-
- The Registered Players shall pay Rs. 60/-
- Only affiliated units (Clubs/Academies/Institutes) which are not in arrears are
eligible to vote.
- Any member shall cease to be a Member by:
- Death
- Withdrawal or Resignation
- Non payment of Subscription
- Removal: by 3/4th
majority of the General Body of the members present at any annual or Extraordinary
meeting of the General Body, if in their opinion the continuance of any person/club/Academy/Institute
as a member is detriment to the furtherance of the objects of the Association.
- There shall be maintained a register of Members of this association which shall
contain the name and full address of the person/Club/Academy/Institute accepted
as a member.
- Admission Fee:
- Club/Academy/Institute
Rs. 200/- Annual Subscription
Fee: Rs. 300/- per year.
- The Annual Subscription fee should be paid on or before 30th June every year.
- Registered Players: Rs. 60/- per year.
- Any Club/Academy/Institute willing to affiliate itself with Chennai District Chess
Association shall apply for affiliation in writing to the Secretary of Chennai District
Chess Association. Along with the application for affiliation, a sum of Rs. 200/-
as admission fee plus Rs. 300/- is remitted as Annual Subscription fee for the accounting
year in which the affiliation is sought.
Also a copy of Bye Laws of the Club/Academy/Institute should be enclosed. Upon recipt
of the application, the Secretary may place the same for consideration in the next
immediate Executive Committee meeting for sanction of affiliation to the Club/Academy/Institute
which has applied for Affiliation.
Only the Executive Committee has the power to grant or reject the affiliation request,
taking into consideration the past and present conduct of the Club/Academy/Institute
which seeks affiliation.
- Recognition Fee
All affiliated units planning to conduct Tournaments, championships in Chennai district
shall obtain permission from the Secretary of CDCA in writing in advance giving
the details of the proposed Tournaments/ Championships before informing the Press/
conducting the proposed tournaments/ Championships. The affiliated units seeking
such permissions shall pay an advance amount of Rs. 500/-. This amount of Rs. 500/-m
is non-adjustable against the Capitation Fee at 10% of the total entry fee to be
collected during the proposed tournaments/ championships.
Upon receipt of application and the advance amount of Rs. 500/- the Secretary may
sanction permission for conduct of such Tournaments/Championships.
Recognition Fee will apply even to non-affiliated Clubs/Academies/Institutes and
also affiliated units of other District Chess Associations who plans to conduct
the Tournaments/ Championships in Chennai District.
Recognition for any proposed tournament/Championships cannot be claimed as a matter
of right by any affiliated unit of Chennai District Chess Association or by the
non affiliated Clubs/ Academies/ Institutes or by the affiliated units of other
District Chess Associations who propose to conduct Tournaments/ Championships in
Chennai District.
- Capitation Fee:
An affiliated unit is bound to pay a sum equivalent to 10% of the total entry fee
collected by it during the tournaments/ Championships. The Capitation Fee shall
be remitted by the affiliated Unit within a week's time from the date of completion
of the Tournaments/Championships.
- The above rules regarding Recognition Fee and Capitation Fee
shall apply even to non-affiliated units and the affiliated units of other District
Chess Associations who want to conduct Chess Tournaments/Championships in Chennai
District.
- Chennai District Chess Association may declare a Tournament/Championship
as an unrecognized one. The members of Chennai District Chess Association will not
be permitted to represent Chennai District in any of the Tamil Nadu State Chess
Association's Recognized events like Tamil Nadu State Level Open Chess Tournaments/
Tamil Nadu State Chess Championships / All India Open Chess Tournaments / FIDE Rated
Tournaments etc. held in Tamil Nadu, if they participate in an unrecognized tournament.
